The National Opera & Ballet

Music with a view

The spectacular Opera House in Oslo is located next to the fjord, evoking the image of an iceberg rising from the oceans. It is designed by the Norwegian architecture firm Snøhetta and the interior reflects a sober, yet stunning Scandinavian style. Free entry to the Opera House. Guided tours are offered at a cost.

The architects have payed close attention to detail, even the textiles on the seats are chosen for the sake of acoustics. All this to match the phenomenal opera and ballet performed on stage, and the large windows on the street level provide glimpses into an exciting world of activities.

Take a walk on the roof

But the most stunning feature of the Opera House is the fact that you can walk on the roof. It is a favoured hotspot for photographers and Instagrammers, and a perfect place to enjoy magnificent views of the city.
