The Vigeland Park

A unique sculpture park

The Vigeland Park is a majestic and unique sculpture park, situated to the west of Oslo city centre. It is a beautiful place adorned with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and wrought iron by artist Gustav Vigeland. The entry is free.

The most famous sculpture of them all is the monumental Monolith, a 17-meter tall sculpture embodying 121 humanlike figures said to resemble the struggle for existence.

The park is one of Norway´s top tourist attracions but is also very popular place to visit for the locals. The Vigeland Park is free to enter and open all year round. You can also visit the Vigeland Museum, located south of the park. Here you find the early work of Gustav Vigeland and his former studio and home.
